From an early age, Michael Perich was truly fascinated by the way his mother and three older sisters physically transformed themselves and often built their own self esteem, through the art of applying makeup. As he grew older it became second nature for him to appreciate all women for their true beauty inside and out. He became an expert at examining women's faces and determining how he could improve their external beauty with proper color theory and techniques. Through his experience in the industry, he learned what it meant to, "look good, feel good, do good."
Michael launched his career working for some of the biggest makeup and skin care names in the business while living in Chicago. As his clientele portfolio grew so did his recognition, and has been seen on FOX, WGN, and CBS. He quickly became disillusioned though by the constant pressure to make sales or meet corporate numbers. Because of this he learned his true motivation was in educating women, and helping women gain self confidence and pride when looking their best.
After pondering the notion for years, Michael turned his back forever on the corporate cosmetics industry and all it entailed. He decided to embark on his own unique business venture in the fall of 2003. In turn CAMP COSMETICS and the slogan "Women are beautiful…We make them pretty."™ was created. On May 1, 2004 Michael officially opened CAMP COSMETICS with his first store location in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. The store, a mixture of modern minimalistic décor and stainless steel, has a chic vibe that attracts women from all over Chicagoland.
The loyal clientele is generated primarily by word of mouth due to Michael and his team of Cosmetic And Makeup Professionals, respecting their clientele's time and effort into the product. There is never the hard sell given to clients, but instead the help handed out freely to women so they understand the fine art of the skin care regime, makeup application, and technique. Michael talks endlessly about the importance of color theory, light against dark (dimension), technique, and how having high pigment levels is crucial to a high-quality product. He remains committed to "no nonsense & no tricks."
All of the skin care is botanically-extract based and treats the skin while nourishing and feeding it, delivering results that are only dreamt about. While the coverage & colors on the face, eyes, cheeks, and lips are simply breathtaking. Committed to quality, and being cruelty free, CAMP COSMETICS, is raising the bar in the industry. The makeup products feature extremely high pigment levels, ensuring minimal product is used so that oil in the skin cannot break it down. This allows a long wear time without the need for heavy application, in turn saving women a fortune.
As the company continues to rapidly grow, Michael will only hire Makeup Artists who are passionate, empowered, and driven as much as he is to make women look and feel absolutely divine. His mission is to help transform everyday women into their own Makeup Artists without all the smoke and mirrors. Until then, CAMP COSMETICS will just keep making women "pretty" one day at a time.
